Background
Support for Humanitarian Aid Youth Society or SHAY Society is a non-profit organization in Bangladesh that was set up in 2017 by young people. It is based in Ali Hoson Market 3rd Floor, Near Station Masjid, Hnila Union under Teknaf Upazila Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The SHAY Society helps people who're poor have no power and are easily hurt by climate changes in Bangladesh. The SHAY Society works closely with people in need. Has been helping with one of the world’s biggest humanitarian problems. It gives emergency help. Tries to make sure people can deal with problems for a long time. This help is given to Rohingya refugees, who are also called Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals and to the people who live near them in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The SHAY Society provides support to Rohingya refugees and host communities. SHAY Society’s main goal is to make a difference, in the lives of these people. It achieves this through programs and activities. SHAY Society is making efforts to help people in need.
Legal Status & Registrations
The organization wants to be open and honest. It follows the law very carefully. It has two papers that say it is a real organization. SHAY Society is registered with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms and the Department of Youth Development. This means SHAY Society can get money from organizations work with other groups and do projects in the local area. SHAY Society is also part of some groups like the Coxs Bazar NGO Platform and the PSEA Network. This means other organizations and international groups check to make sure SHAY Society is doing everything correctly.
Short Introduction
SHAY Society has its office in Teknaf Cox’s Bazar. This is a place where many people are suffering because of a refugee problem and bad weather. SHAY Society knows the people very well so it can help them in many ways. The organization gives people food; medical care teaches them skills and helps them live in peace. SHAY Society helps both the people who had to leave their homes in Myanmar and the local people in Bangladesh. The organization thinks it is very important to have people, in charge so it puts them at the center of what it does. This way SHAY Society can make sure it is doing things that meet standards but also work well in the local community.
